Can Mat Fraser win the 2016 CrossFit games?

Mat Fraser absolutely stormed through to the 2016 CrossFit Games with an impressive performance at the East Regional.
After finishing 2nd to Ben Smith at the 2015 CrossFit Games, and 2nd at the 2014 CrossFit Games to Rich Froning, Fraser was out to prove to everyone that he has what it takes to become the Fittest man on earth.
Fraser meant business throughout the whole weekend, finishing on top in 5 out of 7 events. Fraser still managed to finish inside the top 10 for the remaining two events, taking 6th spot in event 5 and 2nd spot in event 7.
Overall, Mat Fraser blew away the competition at the East Regional and will be looking to do the same at the 2016 CrossFit Games in Carson.
Here are the Week 3 highlights of the 2016 CrossFit Regionals.

Home workout to shed fat

The Summer in the UK is here (kind of) and holidays are looming. Have you done enough to feel confident enough to slip into your swimsuit and wander around the pool?

You can try this workout at home or at the park to get a good sweat on, and keep your body using calories and shedding fat.
Check it out below ðŸ‘‡ðŸ‘‡ðŸ‘‡ðŸ‘‡
Complete the following circuit as follows:

  • 20 reps per exercise
  • Non stop for 5 minutes
  • Rest for 3 minutes
  • Repeat the 5 minute circuit another 2 - 3 times with 3 minutes rest in between circuits

This is a great way to burn some calories and blast some fat. Try this 3 times per week in the comfort of your own living room.

Seven events within the top 7 sees Smith win the Atlantic Regional by 58 points over 2nd placed Noah Ohlsen.
Ohlsen finished each event inside the top 10 and books his place back to the 2016 CrossFit Games where he will be fighting for a podium finish.

Travis Meyer and Jacob Anderson take 3rd and 4th respectively after an impressive weekend of performances.

Emily Bridgers takes the Atlantic Regional title

Emily Bridgers placed inside the top 10 over the entire weekend to lock up the top spot for the Atlantic Regional to make it back to the CrossFit games.
After two 1st place finishes on day one, Bridgers was leading right from the beginning and took another 1st place finish in event 6 to keep ahead of the chasing pack.
It was a tight race for the final 4 places with Anna Tunicliffe securing 2nd place with one even win in event 5.
Meg Reardon and Christy Adkins fought it out for 3rd and 4th place with Reardon finishing 3rd, and Adkins 4th. Both women had some very impressive events finishing inside the top 3 but each had a single relatively poor finish outside of the top 20.

Alea Helmick took the final spot for the 2016 CrossFit games with Cassidy Lance missing out on a place by just 7 points.

Everybody wants to get results, but nobody wants to work hard

Too many people expect too much from doing so little.

If you're reading this, you may be one of those people that I'm talking to. I've worked and trained in many different gyms, training many different people and observing a lot more; and if there is one thing that people who don't get results have in common, it is their lack of hard work and consistency.

OK so you have taken the hardest step and joined a gym. You have then had your induction and maybe even booked a personal training session. You're in a great new place and you train 3 times per week for the first two weeks. You feel better, have more energy, but your holiday is in 4 weeks time and you haven't seen any visible changes yet. You begin to get disheartened and then your training frequency starts to die off. You go from actually getting out of breath in the first few training sessions, to barely building up a sweat. You keep telling yourself that just because you are in the gym, you will get that holiday body you joined the gym to get. Your poor eating habits resurface and your workouts go from 60 minutes to barely 30 minutes. Your lack of hard work and consistency has just wasted your time and your money. But this happens every year; you do the same thing each and every year and you get the same results. Why?

Don't complain about the results you didn't get with the work you didn't do.

Achieving results takes hard work and consistency. It requires a lot of effort in your training, over a long period of time. It requires sacrifices; not sleeping in and training before work or it requires you not go home from work and sit in front of the TV watching Walking Dead back to back. It requires you actively making healthy choices when you're in the supermarket. There is no need to stock up on fizzy drinks and junk food. Can you make those sacrifices? Can you get up and train at 6am? Can you work that hard? Because that is what it takes to get the results you want.

If you really want it, you will do it.

If not, you will continue to do the same thing you have done every year. Leave it until the last minute, not achieve results and repeat.

Ethical Fitness apparel that gives back - WODequipped

We need you help to fund an amazing project.
The project is to create a line of fitness apparel that is ethical, environmentally and worker friendly.

We want to source materials from factories that are part of organisations that ensure better working conditions for their employees.

Once we source these organic, environmentally friendly materials, we plan to support local businesses by hiring locally to design and print the range of fitness wear.

From here, we plan to re launch our website and donate a portion of all t shirt sales to a different charity each month.

For as little as £2.50 you can help us fund this project.

All you need to is CLICK HERE, this will take you to our project on Kickstarter. Read our story and be as generous as you want. Every person who backs us a pledges towards our project, you will receive a reward if we reach our target fund.

Thank you so much for your support, we really appreciate it.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask us.

Thanks

Matt Healey
